Shakira is overjoyed with the completion of the IED Nuevo Bosque project. The Saturday morning event still brings a smile to her face and she couldn’t help but share her thoughts on social media.
The famous singer-songwriter shared a set of pictures where she is seen with the upcoming beneficiaries of the educational institution. She expressed her delight in being part of the event and inaugurating Colegio Nuevo Bosque in Barranquilla, which will cater to over a thousand children. Shakira thanked her allies who made this venture possible. Her tweet also included a picture of the new school building.
It is important to mention that the project encompasses a vast array of facilities, including 22 standard classrooms, four preschool classrooms, two laboratories, an art room, a technology room, and a multipurpose room. Additionally, it features a kitchen and dining area, administrative space, three fields, and multiple bathrooms, all spread across a 6,073 square meter site.
The development began in August 2019 and has progressed in three stages, with a total funding of over $16.1 billion. The Pies Descalzos Foundation contributed $5.7 billion, while the Mayor’s Office of Barranquilla chipped in $10.5 billion.
