The bearded barbet, scientifically known as Lybius dubius, is a bird with a huge head and short tail that stands out thanks to its plump body. It measures approximately 26 centimeters in length and features a distinct coloration – black breast band, tail, back, and crown – in fully matured birds.
The neck of this bird is a bright crimson-red color with white speckles beneath the black breast band. It gets its name from the large, yellow beak that is covered in a bunch of barbs at the bottom.
